Title: Can't read Street name in this Birth Certificate
Post by: John Strang on Friday 28 June 19 11:11 BST (UK)
Hello all,

Can anyone decipher the street name of this address please? For reference I am pretty sure the rest of it reads:

Mary Erskine Strang

1879
September Thirteenth
xxxxxxxxx
Crossmyloof
Parish of Cathcart

John Strang
Grocer
Maria Lamont Strang
MS Millar
1876 February 15th
Maryhill

I wonder if the xxxxx part is "something hill"? I have looked at maps but I'm none the wiser. So if anyone has any thoughts please let me know - many thanks in advance!

Regards
John

Looks like "ll" on the end, so maybe -hall or -hill or -mill..?

Can't find anything fitting on G-maps at the mo... I'll keep looking!  :)

Best regards,
Karen

John, report the image to Scotlands People as unreadable.

Isn't that where the time of birth  is usually found?

Maybe 7h and then...?

I agree with Malky-report the image.

Yes Maureen, it's the time e.g. 7h 0m am/pm

I don't think I have any with a specific amount of minutes it's usually 0m

My reading of it is: 7h 15m AM

But as it's rather unclear I could be wrong.

Thanks everyone for such prompt replies - it hadn't occurred to me it could be the time but that makes sense!

Consider this one closed!

John

PS I will contact Scotland's People about the quality, thanks too for that suggestion.
