Title: Joseph McDonald
Post by: Sandra Skinner on Friday 21 June 19 12:44 BST (UK)
Looking for any information on Joseph McDonald who arrived in NSW in 1853, from Scotland. He had with him his wife Eliza(beth) Thom(p)son and his daughter Margaret born on the voyage. Trying to find a death for him possibly in Sydney.  Supposedly he was a joiner. Had a son, John, too in Australia. On John's death certificate his mother is noted as Elizabeth Thompson, but on his marriage certificate it is Elizabeth Campbell. Tearing my hair out!! Any ideas would be gratefully received.Sandra

In what area were they living?

What year was John married and was his father living at the time?

Do you have Margaret’s marriage and Elizabeth’s death?

Thanks so much for your replies. John married in 1901,  states name of father but no mention of him being deceased. Margaret's death (Qld deaths)  has parents as the Joseph McDonald and Elizabeth Thompson married in 1852 in Angus. Have sent for the certificate of the death of Joseph in 1877.  ;)  ;)
