Title: Easts Cottages, Hadlow - Solved
Post by: Tallulahblossom on Tuesday 18 June 19 10:22 BST (UK)
Hi,  does anyone know how can I find out where a particular house was situated in a village?  I am trying to find Easts Cottages in Hadlow & wondering if anyone could enlighten me as it was where my Grandad was born in 1905.  It definitely says Easts & not Oasts, although I did try Oasts just in case.

Any help greatly appreciated, thank you  :)

Solved - A search through the newspapers on Find My Past revealed the location as the High Street.

If you search using the address in 1911 you find quite a few households are living at that address. Most give it as a East/s Cottages, Hadlow
But one adds the crucial words High  Street

If you do the census walk you might be able to locate it in relation to eg the pub.  I am assuming they are a row of cottages at the east end of the High Street, and there are a few landmarks.
Unfortunately none of the cottages are named on the maps I have looked at so far
