Was John living in Cork when he married as marriage certs only give residence at time of marriage?
Marriages usually take place in the bride's parish, do you know where Mary was from?
Do you know John's occupation?

You asked about this marriage before
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=315597.msg1966073#msg1966073
Did you get a Scottish birth cert for one of the children?

In the other thread you said their son John was born 1862 have you reason now to think he was born later?

Hi Sinann thanks for taking the time to help me
I looked at that post again but Margaret’s maiden name was definitely OConnor not Ralston as appears in this cert so im wondering if I have the wrong people I’m very confused as I’ve not done any research in years

As your confused and haven't looked at this for some time it may be best to tell us what you do know.

Their son John
Have you got his marriage cert, what information does it give?
Have you got him in any/all census?
When was he born?

Have you got the parents (John and Margaret) in any census?
Have you got names for their children and where they were born?

You need to find every possible clue before looking in Ireland.
If the family stayed in Scotland the Certs there give much better information than most places.
