Hi,
I have a relative who registered a birth in Barrhead in 1922 and then re registered it again the next day in Lochwinnock.
Can someone explain why they would do this, any help is appreciated
Thank You

If a child was born in a registration district other than the one where its parents normally lived, the birth had to be registered in the district of birth, but the Registrar there had to forward the details to the Registrar of the district where they normally lived, and the second Registrar had to make a record in his register, so you get two records of the same birth.

Thank you, according to Scotlands People he was born in the Parish of Lochwinnock, but on his birth certificate it said New Crookston Paisley Parish.

So he was born in Paisley, but his parents' usual residence was in Lochwinnoch (with an 'h', not Lochwinnock with a 'k')

Thank's again, sorry for the misspelling it had been a long day trying to read the writing. Now it all makes sense.
