Hi 👀 nj for any info regarding my great great grandparents. Benjamin John Simpson married Hannah (Smith) Simpson . They had 14 children some of which migrated to east orange New Jersey around early 1880s. I think they lived around Celbridge, Ireland. Looking for their birth or death certificates

Welcome to RootsChat
You need to give us an idea of when they married and the children's names, religion would help as well.
I can see a Benjamin Simpson and Anne Smith having children in Celbridge registration district
Theophilus in 1864 and Louis in 1866 could that be them?
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp
Could this be Benjamin and Hannah
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Kildare/Celbridge/Big_Lane/1436453/
This Benjamin died 19 April 1901

And Hannah in 1904
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1904/05628/4583382.pdf
Possibly eldest daughter Elizabeth married George Henderson in 1867, (cert is very faint but I found marriage in a newspaper)was widowed and married Peter Tyrell in 1870

Aged 26 which would put her birth about 1843 1844 if this is the correct family the parents marriage is before civil registration so you would need a church record.
Elizabeth died 1879

Hi,
Here is what I know currently regarding my Simpson ancestors some of the info that you posted after my post sounds like it might be info for my relatives so thank you very much for that info:)
Not sure if the info below will help further identify any of my ancestors, but here is what I know.

Hannah Simpson his wife maiden name Smith possibly born around 1820 somewhere in Kildare her mother was Jane Smith ( maiden name Harkiness),
I believe based on a census in 1901 Benjamin and Hannah Simpson resided in Big lane, Celbridge, Kildare, Ireland and belonged to the Church of Ireland. Benjamin may have been a farmer.

Just to keep all the information together I'm posting your post from the What country thread.
Trying to locate my great great grandparents and their ancestors. I have a family bible but am confused in that the name at the top of the family page isn’t that of my great great grandmother. I know from death certificates that my great great grand mother was Hannah simpson(maiden name Smith) who was married to Benjamin John Simpson. 14 children are listed but the name at the top is Harriet Mcallister. The Bible was made in Edinburgh Scotland but my ancestors came from possibly Kildare Ireland, my great great grandparents may halve been born around 1820 possibly around celbridge Ireland for my great great grandfather Benjamin John Simpson and my great great grandmother may have been born around Kildare Ireland’s. Trying to figure out where Harriet mcallister fits in?
As you can see from the 1901 Census Benjamin was born in England which might be connected to Harriet and the made in Scotland bible.

Harry T Simpson died 1917 in Massachussetts i suspect this may be Theophelius
whoever gave the death information seemed to know his father was English and mother Irish
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GR62-SHV?i=280&cc=1928860
When Hannah died 1904 the informant was a daughter Rebecca

If you use the Search I recommend you can see if any of the children Married or Died in Celbridge or not...
Emma's Marriage is there!
That way you get a better picture of them rather than me just posting something!

I'd say Rebecca is her daughter in law as per the 1901 census.
-
Rebecca who was informant on Hannah's death may have been her daughter in law Rebecca Stephenson

they had a son Louis Jnr born 1904 in Celbridge

Some of the children appeared to have married RC which wouldn't be unusual in Ireland.
-
Earlier records show the family in Clonshambo/Clonshanbo spelling varies which is why Emma's marriage is showing the RC parish of Kilcock https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0708

If any of the girls Married and had kids after 1900 in Celbridge this Search should find them

It wasn't uncommon to purchase a previously owned Bible and then start using it to record your own family events. W have on in OH's family which seems to have belong to grandfather who possibly purchased it at an auction with other items (although never added any details of his family).
Go back and study the entries in the Bible you have. Are they all in the same hand? Are all the birth (and all deaths, all marriages) in chronological order?
When was the Bible printed? it the printing date before or after the earliest written record?
