I am told that my great-aunt Florence Louisa Walker (26 May 1887 - ?1972) was buried in Harehills Cemetery with her father. I did a lookup (can't remember which site) and was unable to find any Walker.
Can anyone please tell me where to go to research this properly? On the internet that is, I'm in Australia.
I'm particularly interested in finding out about the father. I believe he was called William Albert Walker and was born in 1857.
Many thanks

Thanks - any idea when he died, please?
-
You need to check for the last census he appears on then use freebmd (see above) to look for a death
FS shows he was still alive in 1911
-
Yes, I used FS and FreeBMD and came up with deaths from 1917 to 1944. I was hoping to pinpoint the year from the cemetery

Yes, you were right, it is a family grave - parents and 2 of their 3 children.
The third (Harold Walker) died in late 1956 and his ashes are supposed to have been scattered at Lawnswood Cemetery.
Questions please:
Do cemeteries keep records of ash scattering?
Is there likely to be a memorial plaque?
As always, thanks to all you knowledgeable people who share your expertise so readily

If the ashes were registered prior to scattering, then yes there would be a record?
As for a memorial plaque, must be hundreds listed.
[Eyes are going square looking at the listed plaques.]
I have asked others if a record has been made on another site.

Currently no Harold Walker located at Lawnswood!

Thanks for looking. Can you remember, was there an Amelia Walker (his wife)?
