Thanks to everyone for information received. I now have marriage certificate of Nellie Hooper It says her father was Henry James Hooper , commercial traveller but he had died before marriage in 1930. From the certificate I know Nellie was born about 1906 So if the family found in 1901 census could be located in 1911 census or later electoral rolls and there is a Nellie mentioned. Then this family is mine If not will have to locate another commercial traveller called Henry James Hooper. Thank you. Eirwen
-
The family is still in Leicestershire in 1911 but no mention of a Nellie I’m afraid.

What address is given on the marriage certificate?
Who witnessed the marriage?
-
In the last Census available there are only a few Nellie Hoopers in England born c 1906+/- 2 years.
One in Hospital/! with Grandparents, none I can see that has a Father with that occp (although he may have not been a CT when she was born)
Who did she marry 1930?
Do you have her on the 1939 Register with her date of birth?
Trish :)

Thanks for the prompt reply. May I ask is there a daughter aged about 5 yrs but a different name please. Eirwen
-
The only children listed are Ethel and Harry as given on previous census information. If you could give us the marriage information for Nellie that will help us find her, thanks

-
Did she marry Ernest G Hersey? If so Electoral Rolls have her as Nellie May.
-
That is correct. This is one of my problems. Name appears to differ in various entries. The other tact I am going with is if I can find where her father died and what year it might tell me more where the area might be. Again thanks for your input. Eirwen
-
Just a word of caution regarding her name, she may not be registered as Nellie. My great grandmother appears on all the census records as Kate and also on her marriage certificate with that name. Her actual name was Catherine. She also was listed as being three years old than she was on her marriage certificate.
Nellie is often Ellen so it might be worth looking for this name as well.

So really we only have her dob from 1939 to go by?

That is correct. Been looking for over 4yrs so far. My brickwall. Eirwen

What address is given on the marriage certificate?
Who witnessed the marriage?

The witnesses appear to be . Thomas Honeycombe and Ray Holloway. Wedding Farnham registry office. Fathers were Henry James Hersey and Henry James Hooper Does look odd for both fathers to have same Christian names
-
Fathers were
Henry James Hersey and
Henry James Hooper
Does look odd for both fathers to have same Christian names
Was her father noted as deceased?
Ernest certainly seems to have had a father named Henry James - perhaps Nellie didn't know her father's name ???
Maybe she is the patient age 5 (as mentioned by Trish)

I fully accept all my requests with regard to all information regarding Henry James Hooper or his daughter Nellie Doris Hooper But even with all the excellent help from members, have got no further forewarnings. I apologise if I have upset anyone with all my requests.
