I've been looking into my mother's family history. She always said that there were sword makers in the family and I've found there were Moles in the North of England who were sword makers. Some of the family lived in the Middlesbrough/Redcar area. Does anyone else have these connections?

Welcome to Rootschat. :)
Have you thought about contacting the local family history society? They might know of fellow researchers.

Thank you for that. I will try your suggestion. I'm completely new to all this and welcome any help!

You could also try the Surnames Interest section here; the link is in the brown section at the end of this page.

Hi
Welcome to Rootschat!
"Mole" exists elsewhere.
One example is SWEngland
Are you looking "North" because of a specific reason?Your mother may have added "swordmakers" because of an historic story/rumour
Do you have a base area foryour mother?

Hi Ray. My mother was born in the north east and some of my family lived there for quite some time so I feel my roots are there but thank you for your comments. It's all new to me at the moment!

Hi
Add "Moll" to the list you have of sword-makers ?
