Title: 1851 Buckingham enumeration districts help
Post by: Waterhouse on Saturday 04 May 19 19:02 BST (UK)
I am trying to trace details of Gawcott Road, Buckingham, residents in the 1851 census. I have drawn a blank trying to find the road by going page by page through the online images for the town's enumeration districts. Can anyone point me in the right direction - I'm not familiar with the town, so have no local knowledge to draw on. Thanks in anticipation...

Findmypast has an address search facility for the Censuses and I cannot find a Gawcott Road anywhere in Buckinghamshire.

Gawcott Road comes up in an address search in 1841 and 1861 but as emeltom says, zero in 1851.

I did a backward check for some of those living in Gawcott Road in 1861 on the 1851 census and nearly every one I checked shown as living in Church End, Buckingham in 1851.   In 1861 only 20 houses in Church End but in 1851 there are dozens.   I think - for whatever reason - houses in Gawcott Road were included in Church End.
