On the burial record my great grandmothers address is listed as 33 Tusmore street Rotherham, yet her family home where her spouse and children live is in chapel street. Is there any way to find out who the occupiers of 33 Tusmore street were in September 1919, whether they were family etc?

If you're on Ancestry you could look at the 1911 census and the 1939 Register? Have you looked for the local workhouse also, as that would possibly be the only hospital available to ordinary working families pre-NHS.

Murfin in 1911.

Outram 1939

I looked at census in records office, but names don t tie into family at all, perhaps the occupants had changed by 1919, by 1939 the family are gone from chapel street to fitzwilliam road. Thanks for trying.

My family member moved from Wigan to Rotherham in 1911, and was in chapel street. She died in 1919, six weeks after her 4 year old accidentally drowned. We have no connection to owtrums, though believe they had connection to funerals, perhaps burial records were an error. I can't see why she would die in a residence in tusmore street, when she lived in chapel street. Thank you all.

Fairhurst, at number 55, were there in 1919, not sure about 1911. Her parents were maguire.
-
They weren't there in 1911,they had a child in Rotherham in 1912.

Do the details on the burial record match those on her death certificate?

I assumed 1911 as their daughter Cissie, born in wigan, dies in Rotherham in 1911. She loses Albert in 1913 in Rotherham. I have not got death certificate. Thanks to everyone.

I would advise obtaining a firm base location for a start with your Gt granny's death certificate and work from the address ('s) on the certificate first ? 1919 and a names of persons on the death certificate. If she died in hospital, then you could try to see if any hospital records exist, or if she died away from her home address ( or temporary residing address at time of her death).

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time and made the effort to respond to my post, I have learnt a lot and received some great advice going forward.

My husband's great grandfather, Arthur Murfin lived at 33 Tusmore Street, Rotherham in 1911. He was an Ice Cream Maker.
-
There must be some family connection to Tusmore street (see years of threads start dates)

the only record I could find for her was a single one in family research that has her as 9 years, which would as you say have been 1892 or thereabouts. Until I track down her marriage record I will not be certain of her age. This seems to link up to a record in the 1881 census of a household in 35 Tusmore Street, with mum susannah, father george B, and sisters Gertrude and Mary Ann Adams.
