In 1953, when her mother dies, Charlotte was living at Clunes in Victoria.
Some siblings for her are named here too.

This seems likely to be her father's death

Calling herself Lottie Taylor, perhaps Charlotte was at Clunes in 1954
At Suburban St, Clunes.
Home Duties. No others of the surname present.

"..... do not know where to start..."
You have not said what outcome are you wanting here.......research the origins of Douglas George TAYLOR?.....his birthdate?
"...also mentione in military papers his Grandfather George Earl from Forbes via Kilmore Victoria.."
What military papers? Why is his grandfather, George EARL, mentioned in the service records of Douglas George TAYLOR?
Is there more information that would be useful to know about the early / later (than WW1) life of Douglas George TAYLOR?

Her last addresss was 57 Humphray St Ballarat.

I have not been able to locate a marriage between Charlotte EARL and Edward TAYLOR.
Edward is not at Ballarat Cemetery.
The death cetificate from Qld BMD service will give you the age at death of your man as well as other details.
A worthwhile investment I would say.

Hi Sue - Many thanks for all the info, am a little "shattered" as we were up discussing things until 1am this morning, meanwhile my printer and scanner decided to have a heart attack so have had to order another which should be here (hopefully) this week-end. The whole thing is rather confusing and Nev has left all paperwork with me so as from tomorrow will be spending most of the time going through them, his father lied about his age at the start of the war and I have to go through his war service as dates and where he was taken prisoner seem to vary as does his medical records as his lag was amputated ar some point once again variants in time and place....so will leave or the time being and get back to you when I have a few more things sorted....thank you so much....all the best...Pat...
