my grandfather william henry newell joined the royal berkshire reg.t.a.as a private in 1908 in maidenhead  his war medals are inscribed csm at the time of demob. although the rate of attrition was high that is a big leap in rank. is there anywhere where one could tracae the how a nd where the promotion was ?      thankyou graham

If so his Service record is available on Anc***ry.

Was his number 202404, previously 567? He was a Sergeant according to his army file and the medal rolls.
