Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me I am trying to find my 2nd great-grandmother Meady or Middy Millership she was born in 1827 in Kirkby in Ashfield Nottinghamshire.
They lived in Greasley Nottinghamshire but after the 1851 census she vanished.
Her husband William Mellowship/Millership b 1825 and son Joseph Mellowship/Millership stayed in Greasley Nottinghamshire and are on the 1861 census in Greasley but not Meady/Middy/Mea Mellership /Millership.
We have looked on the 1861 census but are not sure what district to look at
What we have found is her death record in Sheffield in 1869 she died at Dun Street we have her grave details
Thank you jo293

Who reported her death?

Her husband William Mellowship/Millership b 1825 and son Joseph Mellowship/Millership stayed in Greasley Nottinghamshire and are on the 1861 census in Greasley but not Meady/Middy/Mea Mellership /Millership.
Does William claim to be still married?
Did they have other children she could be with.

Was Dun Street a private house do you know, just wondering if she was in a hospital of some kind :-\
-
1861 indexed as Mellowship - William aged 36 shown as married
-
Thanks I see it now.
-
I wonder if she was in a mental hospital - most entries for such patients are initials only.
They married 1845 - mmn Robinson. No birth reg for Joseph (aged 5 in 1851) but GRO shows a son Alfred b 1847 Basford who is not with them in 1851 but no death 1847-1851
MILLERSHIP, ALFRED mmn ROBINSON

EDIT
There is an Alfred Millership aged 3 son of Isaiah & Elizabeth on the 1851 - guess who Isaiah married?? Elizabeth ROBINSON

Yes that's what I was thinking :( the death certificate would give more of a clue if jo293 has it.

If it's any help, here is Dun Street.

Is there any way to find out what buildings were on Dun Street in late 1860's
it looks like the new flats follow the same footprint as the old one
It has taken us quite a while to find Meady we still do not understand why she was living in Sheffield and died there
I am going to send for her death cert
Thank you for all help

It might be possible to find it on the 1871 census. I'm not very good at searching by address but will have a go!
Good idea to send for the death certificate. Please do let us know what it says.
-
It will be interesting to see who reported her death

FindMyPast have the facility to search by address in the census records. 39 results in 1871 census for Dun Street, Sheffield.
