Hello,
I have run into brick walls trying to trace what happened to my Grand-mother from Llanhilleth.
Hannah Jane Rees (1903-???)
Born:2 Apr 1903 in Lllanhilleth to Thomas and Maria Rees
Married Stanley Jones - Sept 1924 (Marriage Certificate referred to her also known as Nancy)
Feb 1931 - Stanley died - and my mother Edna Winifred Jones was born in Sept 1931
According to my mother, Hannah did not want Edna, so Edna grew up with Hannah's parents Thomas and Maria Rees.
My mother refused to ever speak about her mother, but only mentioned that "her mother re-married" and "her mother lived in Kent, near Bighan Hill during the Battle of Britain".
So I do not know who she married...after 1931 ... where she married, OR what her last name was.
I also don't know when she died, or where she died and was buried.
I have searched the 1939 Register for variations of Hannah Jane Jones, Rees, Nancy Jones all through Wales - and no luck. I even searched all the Hannahs in Wales in 1939 - but none with the same birthday.
I have also searched Marriage records in Wales and in Kent - Hannah Jane Jones, Hannah Jones marriages - and none match up.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you in advance!
cheers
Shane

From the Beckenham & Penge Advertiser, 6-Dec-1984 p2, Cremations & Interments at Beckenham Crematorium & Cemetery (https://www.dignityfunerals.co.uk/crematoria-and-cemeteries/crematoria/find-a-crematorium/beckenham-crematorium/?utm_source=system&utm_medium=listings&utm_content=7557&utm_campaign=crem_listings):
Hannah Ward, 81, Beckenham, buried on 30th November 1984.
I also noted a James Ward, husband of Gladys, age 73, Bromley, cremated on 8th November.
I have found several L x Ward fruiterers in the Beckenham area, but can't definitely identify a Leonard William.
