Thanks can I just ask where did you find the will/probate please I am being a bit lacking today

It is only the probate index, you would have to pay for the will but can get it from here

Make sure you select the correct time frame on the form when you search

Did he marry in England? The marriage cert should give his fathers name & occupation.
Did he have any children - are they not able to tell you where he was from etc?
He died 22.1.1996 and left a will. Probate was granted 26.2.1997. Downloading a copy may give you some info

I see from a quick internet search on these names that you have made similar posts before, could you please let us know what info you already have on Henry. It will save duplication and time while also giving us a little more to work with.

Have you looked through this site?

I have to say it is pretty depressing, but perhaps this might be helpful
When British Guiana gained independence in 1966, the British did take back to England with them copies of many colonial newspapers, among them, the Argosy and the Colonist (for early 19th century).. Luckily they did, as births, marriages and death notices were printed in the newspaper and these may be our only source of getting this data. These newspapers are housed in two sites in London, England, however, the newspapers are not indexed. A wonderful lady named, Inge Veecock, indexed the entries from the Argosy and Colonist papers. The indexes are available in London libraries and also at the Mormon Church Salt Lake City library. The book or microfilm of the index book may possibly be loaned on order at your local Mormon Church Family HIstory Center. A listing of the newspapers of pre-1966 newspapers has been listed from the British Library catalogue where they have copies of the newspapers on microfilm.
