hi on the 1911 census one of my relatives has PW c694/8853 written inthe last column. Does anyone know what that means please.

Is this the 1911 Eng & Wales census as the last column is 'language spoken'?

If it is the 1939,  PWC = Post war credits

I had to look them up. I remembered them being spoken about when I was a girl!

  My mother used to talk about her post-war credits - I don't think she ever got much back!
