Is this a possible living person ?
-
Sorry don’t know
-
He arrived 27 March 1959. Arrived Melbourne.
1980 E/R has him still in Victoria in 1980.
I can not find a death for him so its possible he may still be alive. If someone is living we are not to post their names on the open forum due to their privacy and security.

His death/funeral is NOT listed at Ryerson, so it is entirely possible he is still living in Australia.
I have altered the subject heading in my post.

Here is the 'How To' for enquiries on the Australia Board
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=368728.0
At reply #2 on that thread it's opening paragraph reads:
RootsChat - Our Policy on Living Persons.
Here on RootsChat we are very concerned that the privacy and security of the living is protected. For this reason we do not allow searches for living persons. Although we fully understand you would like recent information to add to your tree, or that you may wish to make contact with birth families, relatives you lost contact with when they immigrated to Australia, missing family or friends, we are afraid we are unable to assist you.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience this causes you but we are sure you will appreciate the reasons for this.
Please See:- http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,142443.0.html
We do have a few suggestions which may help:-
......
RChat's New Zealand board has a thread about enquiries on that board, and it too addresses privacy issues...

Thank you but I won’t be posting ever again

Carrbridge,
If you go back to your posts where you mention this person, and just change it to his initials rather than his full name, someone may be able to assist you further via PM (personal message) - that is they might be able to help you without mentioning him by name on this public forum. Regarding your subject heading - you could perhaps change that to something like “seeking assistance with possible living person” or something more catchy. ;)
It is fine to mention birth dates and places, and immigration details - we just can’t mention the names of anyone still living.
So you can still get assistance off line. :)
-
No thank you .Will look elsewhere.I’m a bit upset at the moment as i did’nt do it intentionally.
Thank you’
-
Don’t take it personally. The same advice is given to anyone who inadvertantly mention the names of possibly living people - it happens all the time.
We understand you did not do this intentionally, but it is a rule we all need to follow. :)
Added: I ever so slightly amended this post as JM was quoting me in her post below.... :)
-
EDIT ... I am removing that quote that Ruskie mentions... :D
Yes, fully support Ruskie's comments. We do understand.

Thank you for modifying the topic heading in your opening post. :D :D

I understand that but that’s my decision.

If you look at the telephone directory and just put in the surname you will see that there's only one current listing for that surname, with an address south of Sydney NSW. I just put in the surname and left the other sections blank. The White Pages telephone directory doesn't always include mobile numbers.
