Title: Records for Long Grove Asylum, Epsom
Post by: auntie bertie on Tuesday 19 March 19 12:41 GMT (UK)
I cannot seem to find 1939 for the patients at Long Grove.... can anyone advise please?
I'm looking for a Honor Gladys Helen Boult (nee Barlow) who was admitted in 1919 and dies in 1947.
TIA.

She was buried in Horton Estate Cemetery on 23 Jan 1947 as H. Gladys Helen Boult aged 53. The burial registers, transcribed by me many years ago, state that she was of the neighbouring West Park Hospital, not Long Grove.

The records are online at   www.epsomandewellhistoryexplorer.org.uk/HortonCemeteryBurialsA.html

Yes, I have her death which is why I was trying to find 1939.
Do you know what the difference was between the 2 establishments- what sort of patients were in there?

Also I have searched by Horton Lane and can only find LongGrove transcribed for 1939.  Could it possibly be under a different street?

Good evening

I am an Investigator at Locate International, a UK charity reviewing and investigating unsolved cases involving missing people or unidentified remains at no cost to the police or families.

We are currently working on a case involving unidentified skeletal remains found in Deepdene Wood, Dorking, Surrey in April 1990. Here is a link to our website with a little about the case. The man has remained unidentified after all these years. However, we are actively working on trying to identify him.

We would like to speak to anyone who worked at or attended Long grove or Netherne hospitals between 1975-1983 who may remember an older man who went missing suddenly or could assist us with information regarding the discharge process.

We would be grateful for any assistance you can provide. Should you have any questions or queries, please do let me know.

With thanks
