Title: James Campbell Stevenson/ Royal Engineers
Post by: campsie22 on Wednesday 13 March 19 19:26 GMT (UK)
Hello you were great in finding my husbands great uncle Charles Stevenson Boer war and WW1 records, it was the right person.  The Chelsea pension card gave his address.

I am on again for more help regarding Charles younger brother  James Campbell Stevenson who is my husbands grandfather.   I have tried looking myself on ancestry with no luck.
We know he was in the Royal Engineers. 3 Lowland Field Company  and he was a sapper.  He was born in 1885 in Glasgow.  We think he was stationed in Sussex.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you

The 3rd. Lowland Field Company became 411 Coy. R.E. & served in the 65th. Div. which was a TF Div. & served at home only so no medal tally I'm afraid.
Also his service record appears to be one of the 60% destroyed in WW2.
The LLT says this:

Thanks for the information Jim1.  Very interesting, fills a lot of gaps.  There was talk of him being at the Curragh.

Many thanks again.
