It seems you are actually looking for border crossings from the USA to Canada.   Ancestry has such records but only from 1908-1935 and a search for Eleanor Hallett did not bring up any results I'm afraid.

Hi could some kind soul look up a record for me

Border Crossings from Canada to U.S., 1895-1956

I am looking for Eleanor Hallett crossing from Buffalo, USA.

any other travel of Elanors would also be appricated.

Jo

Hi,

Ancestry has that set of records (with image) and so does Family Search (without image).
Family search
https://tinyurl.com/y7w74bjh

The crossing is from Windsor going to Buffalo.

The image on Ancestry is very dark and difficult to read, arrived Buffalo, NY July 23, 1940
Hallett, Eleanor, age 19 b. Windsor, Ontario, race Syrian, single, salesgirl, relative father Joseph,
going to friend Mr. (or maybe Dr.) Robert Good, 2259 W. 59th St., NYC, NY, visit for 1 month.
On the back of the card, it looks like her date of birth is April 21, 1921.

Hi folks...

The original question about Eleanor Hallet seems to have been posted in 1910.

A new query about an apparently different family has just been posted by a new member.....please see reply # 91 above.

Hi Carol Ann Kalmar,

Welcome to RootsChat.

We would need further details on your great grandparents, grandad and brothers to be able to help you - names and birth dates would help ?

Perhaps the moderators would be obliging and start a new thread on your behalf.

Sandra

Added - Sorry I presumed someone would have already asked the modearators to split the thread.  :-\

In general, there aren't passenger lists for people entering the U.K. from Europe but there might be other records (naturalisation, census, etc.) that could help fill in some gaps for you.

Have you tried the Anglo-German FHS  https://www.agfhs.org ? They have a huge Names Index, which may be helpful particularly as it includes all the names from the late Len Metzner's Ships Lists (extracted from TNA HO2 & HO3) of German migrants 1830s-1860s.

Ancestry has a similar range of ships lists - migrants from Germany. There's a Jocken Diedrick Henners to London 1843, though this might be a bit early for you.

Both of the above sources concentrate heavily on entry via London, however many Germans, with the intention of sailing to N America entered at Hull and made the short journey across to Liverpool. I'd suggest contacting the Hull History Centre  http://www.hullhistorycentre.org.uk/home.aspx  for any help they might be able to offer.
Some years ago I also heard that a member of Hull University was compiling a list of German migrants arriving at Hull - that may of course now be at the History Centre given the recent re-structuring.
