Title: Looking for John "Thomas" HOPE & Margaret ALLENBY in West Lutton (c.1720-)

I am hoping someone can help me.

I am trying to research the family of John "Thomas" Hope (abt. 1720-) of West Lutton. He married Margaret Allenby (1718-1808) on 17 Jan 1742 in Weaverthorpe, Yorkshire, England.

Possible children include:

John Hope, bp. 23 Apr 1744 in Weaverthorpe, m. Elizabeth Stone(s) 25 Jun 1768 in Sledmere, d.?
NOTE: John's baptismal records suggest that his father's name was John.

Ellenor Hope, bp. 07 Sep 1746 in Weaverthorpe.

Daniel Hope, b. 1752 in Weaverthorpe, m. Ann Loscellis 17 May 1777 in  Kirby Grindalythe, d. 1837 in Weaverthorpe

James Hope, bp. 28 Sep 1757 in Weaverthorpe. m. Mary Williamson 24 Nov 1785 in Brompton by Sawdon. d. 1814 in Sledmere

Sarah Hope, bp 10 Aug 1760 Weaverthorpe. m. Mark Tyler 25 Nov 1790 in Weaverthorpe.

Any further information would be appreciated.

The 1744 baptism is the only one to show the father's forename as John, and the surname as Hope.

The 1740 marriage is for Thomas Hoop and Margaret Allanby.

Ellenor - 1746 = Thomas Hoope
Daniel - 1752 = Thomas Houpe
James - 1757 = Thomas Houpe
Sarah - 1760 = Thomas Hoope

All baptisms state that the father is from West Lutton and is a Labourer.

I can't readily see a baptism for either John or Thomas around 1720 at Weaverthorpe.

I have just noticed something else, though.  I don't know whether it is significant or not.  :-\

BT's for Weaverthorpe from Lady Day 1744:

23 April - baptism of Jane, daughter of John Cowper, Labourer
(assume same date) - baptism of John, son of John Hope of West Lutton, Labourer
9 June - burial of Elizabeth, daughter of Matthew Wright, Husbandman

Parish Register for Weaverthorpe from Lady Day 1744

23 April - baptism of Jane, daughter of John Cowper, Labourer
9 June - burial of Elizabeth, daughter of Matthew Wright, Husbandman

There is NO entry in the parish register for John Hope

It doesn't help that the marriage of Thomas Hoop and Margaret Allanby - 17 January 1742 - ONLY appears in the BT's and NOT the parish register.

I haven't been able to locate earlier records for Hope/Howpe/Houpe/Hoope in West Lutton/Weaverthorpe, so I am thinking the family must have moved to this area around the time of their marriage.
