Hi. I don’t know if anybody can help ,I am looking for some info on my sisters father his name was Denis Sullivan. My mother was married in Hertfordshire or wapping about 1943/45 as my sister was born around 1944/45 . Her name is Margaret Sheila Sullivan . The only information I have is that Margaret was born in Hertfordshire when my mother Catherine Sullivan was ivacuated there during the war. Any information will be appreciated .

Do you have a full copy of her birth certificate?
Although the electoral registers weren't compiled during the war, extra information with regards to addresses, occupations and informants can be vital clues.

The marriage certificate should name his father and give the occupations of them both

Rosie 99 thanks for thst. Any chance of any marriage details for Denis d Sullivan. Or birth details for Denis . Thankyou.......

You would need to buy the marriage certificate, very few are online for around those years. You need the marriage to establish fathers name then you can possibly progress to his birth.
Any idea where and when he died
-
Have you looked at freebmd for his birth. There is a possible birth registration in 1922 Brentford area
ADDED You can see that one and his possible parents on the 1939 register

You will also get more information from her birth certificate, especially as there is a difference in the spelling of Denis/Dennis.
It is easily available from the GRO as she is over 50.
