Hi, I am looking for my grandfather Harold James Corbett who was born approx 1920 in Kidderminster. He married my grandmother Edna Mary Lewis in 1946 and passed away 03-07-1963 in Kidderminster, his former address was 15 Walter Nash Road according to his administration records. I am unable to find his parents as my family are under the impression he took his mothers name as father unknown. Unfortunately my aunts are the last living relatives and have no further information. I have photographs of him wearing a navy? uniform along with my uncle who with have another photo of with HMS VICTORY on the cap so they may ave served together.

Do you have his marriage certificate which should give information on his father and witnesses
If his children are still living you should remove their names from your post

There is this birth registration which could fit
Birth Dec qtr 1919

Kidderminster 6c 152
There are other children born Kidderminster after this birth who could be siblings

Hi, i have found two possible records of birth but i can't confirm in any way if they are correct and no, i don't have his marriage certificate, would it definitely hold that information as as far as my family are aware no one knew who his father was? And thank you, i have removed the names from my post.

Would a death certificate hold such information as that is the only date i know to be correct?
(Scratch that, I've just realised I've tried applying before but the dates were not available.)
-
The information on a death certificate is reliant on the accuracy of the informants knowledge. The marriage certificate is normally the best route to follow though there is no guarantee that he told the truth when he married. He would not have had to prove who his father was or provide a birth certificate

His Father may have died when he was young;
Death Reg;
HAROLD Corbett
Death Age: 35
Birth Date: abt 1895
Registration Date: Mar 1930
Registration district: Kidderminster
This may explain why his Father was never mentioned or known by later Family members.
1901 Census
Betsy Corbett, 56, Head
Harriet Corbett, 26, Daug
Harold Corbett, 6, Grandson ( likely Mother Harriet)
+ 1 boarder
All born Kidderminster

Thank you very much to both of you, i feel like I'm going around in circles with this side of my family.

I would get Harolds marriage certificate.
The death Trish posted would tie in with a remarriage for Louisa
Marriages Mar qtr 1931
Corbett Louisa
Williams Philip
Kidderminster 6c 114

Thank you again ;D

Looks like Louisa may have remarried 1931 to Philip WILLIAMS
2 children reg as Williams 1932/1937 in Kidderminster, Mothers mn Jones.
I am unable to locate the Family on the 1939 register. Possible for Philip but he is not with Louisa.
1911 Harriet has remarried and is Harriett Edwards 1875 Kidderminster, her Son is with them.
Buying the 1946 M/C is I must to help with your research.
