I'm trying to trace the birth date and birth location of my 3rd Great Grandmother, Ann Marie Powell. she is shown in the 1851 census as having been born in Montgomeryshire in 1806/7, being the widow of John Mills. Is anyone aware of which town/village Mary Ann may may have been born? I'm also interested in tracking down her marriage to my 3rd Great Grandfather, if anyone has any pointers.
Many thanks.

Welcome to Rootschat.
You say that she is on the 1841 census. Who is with her?

Is she Ann Marie, or Mary Ann?

Apologies 1851 census. With her are her children Emily Mills (25), Jane Mills (10) and Francis Mills (8).

Census says 'Mary Ann'

I wonder if this is Emily and Jane on the 1841?
Someone here on RC with better resources, may be able to see if there is a page before with mother on it.

I agree with the birth entry for son Francis, and he was baptised 30/4/1843 Bryanston Sq. St Mary, Westminster, son of John Mills, brass founder, and Mary.
I can find children born to John, brass founder, and wife Mary before then but they don't tie in with the 2 daughters shown on 1851 - cannot find a daughter Jane bc.1841, and although they had a daughter Emily she wasn't born until 1839 (confirmed with birth index) and bp.13/10/1839.
Things just not tying up here.

Yes, the birth of Emily in 1839 had me wondering, also. I couldn’t find Jane either.

What are the names of the other children, Annette?

Think this may be Francis on the 1871: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VBDZ-LVG

Thanks so far for your help.
I have Francis pretty well mapped out. It's his parents and siblings who have been a struggle. In the 1841 census mentioned by you - Jamjar - we have both an Emily and a Jane of the right dates, no parents and the addition of a Charlotte, Selina and Agnes. The location is in roughly the right area, as is Bryanston Sq., albeit in a different direction from where the family resided in 1851.
Taking Francis's birth certificate and the 1851 census as reference points, the father John died between 1843 and 1851, probably nearer 1843 as there are no children named after Francis. There is another probable daughter - Mary-Ann - who was born on 06-Mar 1837 and baptised at Saint Mary-St Marylebone Road,St Marylebone,London,England.
Compliments of the Season.
