Hello
I'm looking for info on McDonald family from crossabeg. My grandad Michael McDonald b. 1917 married to Bridget Murphy b. 1912. They had 5 children. My dad Tom b. 1947.
I'm told the family are originally from Camolin.

Welcome to RootsChat Tom
Michael's birth is too recent to be online yet and Bridget Murphy may be difficult to pick out from other Bridget Murphy's.
You need their marriage to get their father's names, images of marriages only goes up to 1941 at the moment although the index on FamilySearch goes up to 1958 which would allow you to order a photocopy of the marriage cert for €4.
The year their eldest child was born is usually a good indication of when they married, do you know what year this was? Was your father the eldest?
Assuming your father is still living you will need to remove his name from your post, RootsChat has a no living person policy.

Gorey is the registration district for Camolin.

Hi
Thanks for the input. I have checked civil and parish records including census for their parents (provided by my Dad). I have records for both the paternal and maternal line up to abt 1800 so far.
I'm just trying to add more detail to my tree at this stage.

Hello Tommcdonald
My grandfather was John Mc Donald originally from Camolin too and came to Castlebridge to work for the Nunn family early 1900's . I think they may have been related to your Michael Mc Donald.

This query is for a completely different family, and locality, than that considered in the existing thread. As such, it will get far less attention than it would if you were to post this in a dedicated thread of its own, with a relevant subject header - basically, I think you should ask a moderator to split this off into a thread of its own.

@summerhill
The McDonald line I have so far is below.
Matthew McDonald (1860 - 1945)
Son of Michael McDonald
Michael Mcdonald (1882 - 1977)
Son of Matthew McDonald
Michael McDonald (1917 - 1994)
Son of Michael Mcdonald
I've requested the moderator to create a new post for this as suggested by wexflyer
