Title: Emily Bonney
Post by: coppernob on Sunday 09 December 18 22:58 GMT (UK)
Has anyone access to either baptism records or census records for Ballingdon, Essex. I am looking for the parents of Emily Bonney who was born in 1860/61 in Ballingdon, Essex.   Sometimes miss transcribed as Bassingdon.

Be grateful for any help. Thanks Coppernob

Baptised as Sarah Ann Emily BONEY, in Sudbury on 24 Feb 1861, by the looks of it (per transcription).

Parents: Henry & Martha (marr as Martha Stock, Jun qtr 1860 Sudbury).

Her father is Phillip H in the 1861 census (baby is down as Sarah Ann, 9mo): RG9/1129/115/21.

Father dies as Henry Bonney shortly afterwards: Jun qtr 1861 Sudbury, aged 30.

The widowed Martha has “Emily”, 10, with her in 1871: RG10/1716/33/18.

Ballingdon was part of Essex, but is now part of Sudbury in Suffolk. It’s on the border of both. Might be worth posting on the Suffolk board?
