Could anyone help with birth records for George Palframan. I believe he was born at Pontefract, York, in 1828. I am unsure of his parents names.
In the 1881 census he is listed as living at 32 Boldshay St, Bradford, York.
George 53
Martha nee Booth wife 48
Mary daughter 24
Eloura son 19
Martha J. daughter 17
Alfred son 15
Herbert son 12
Arthur son 8
Ernest son 6
Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks,
Debra

I checked the 1861 for you and he's not listed on there. I also tried to look up Pontefract FHS but nothing there either. You could try the Wakefield FHS http://www.wdfhs.co.uk/ and ask them about the records.
Sorry i've not been much help

Hi Debra, its me again, my gggrandfather GEORGE PALFRAMAN was baptised Nov. 11th 1827 PONTEFRACT, he married MARTHA BOOTH Oct. 29th. 1849 by Banns in the Parish Church of Bradford.
They both give the address of BOWLING.
Witnesses were WILLIAM HOLMES and BRAD SMITH. Both fathers were called WILLIAM, and they worked as combers.
GEORGE was 22 and a comber, MARTHA was 18 and a weaver.
Please contact if this is of any use to you as I have some info on the children of George and Martha.

Hello Graham,
Thank you for your reply. George's son Ernest Benjamin b 22.11.1874 had come to Australia by 1900 when my own g grandmother Martha Ellen Palframan, was his first child. Wife Ellen Webb m 21.07.1900. I believe that he may have gone to sea after the death of his mother, arriving in Australia soon afterwards. He had a Naval background and after his death, his ashes were scattered at sea in Moreton Bay from a Naval vessell.
Any assistance that you can give is greatly appreciated.
Bye for now,
Deb Queensland Australia
