Hi I have an old photograph of my grand parents unfortunately it needs some restoration I wonder if anyone can help me with this as it is quite bad.
The Photograph was taken in south wales highly probable Senghenydd as that is where my grandad used to meet in the buffs.
Names of the people are annie ellen thomas and William henry phillips both are deceased.
I have no idea the age of this photograph as my gran looks reasonably young she was born in
1892 and my grandfather 1877.

1930's I would suggest.

I thought 1930s too before I saw Jim's estimate. I have a photo of my Grandma wearing those peep toed sandals in the 1930s but they were also still popular in the 1940s.

Thanks Jim Carol and Pat
Thats great about the era and the restoration it is a definite improvement considering how bad the photo was. Pat its a shame about the faces do you think we could not improve on this any further or should I wait to see if I get any more response with it. I really appreciate the effort so far though.

My try.

Can you not get the original scanned? Although it is in poor condition, it is very repairable, however the poor photo of the photo makes it extremely difficult.

Hi peter that does look like an improvement thank you. I will contact my cousin as his father has the original I believe. I thought it was a scan of the original but will ask him to re-scan it direct to me and see if its any better.
thank you again

HI
Fixed distorted pixel and mainly the reflection to bring the details back.
It might be caused because of the material used in the old photograph. Tried to preserve the original details as much as possible and patched accordingly. Brought noticeable detail back and some to grandma's hair structure, grandpa's eye details also. As you can see, there are some minute details are present like the chair's reflection. I didn't touch up the right leg portion of grandpa, you can see the reflection of the folds and there is something else also there. Do you have any idea? is it reflections of the folds only or the other end of the chair? I just want to make sure of it. This is the 1st set of a process which took longer than I expected. Needed second round for the fine tune of facial and eye structure, which will take more time. This is what I can do for the moment. Sorry.

Hi you have done a great job and the photograph is looking much better. I see the structure you are referring to and it is definitely the leg of the chair. I appreciate that you have spent a considerable amount of time improving it on what has already been achieved by others. A grand job. Thank you so much.
