I'm struggling to decipher this place name. Any help would be most welcome.
Top line only (The bottom line is 'Gateshead, Durham')

Longford?
-
An Longfort is the Irish name for Longford
It's the county town of Longford - Google has some info on it.

Thank you both for your help. I might begin to get somewhere after hours of going cross-eyed. ;D

Would they be on 1901 or 1911 census?

I don't think she made it to the 1901 census. The only census to mention where in Ireland she came from was the 1871 England census. All other census returns just state 'Ireland'. The lady in question was very economical with the truth about her age too. She was born anywhere from 1811 to 1830 depending upon which census you read.
