Hi and welcome to Rootschat  :)

I did a tree some years ago for a friend who is a descendant of this couple. If no one has given you any information by tomorrow, I'll dig it out of my old files.

I'm trying to work out which of the lines that your family come from. I've just found a couple of large charts that I did in 2005!

I'll need a bit of time to gather any of the remaining info together as its a long time  ago and the files aren't on my current computer. .

From memory only, did Annabella Fraser come from Gairloch way or maybe Polbain?

In the mean time, it might be worth you searching through these records which were collected by one of Rootschat's members:

You have maybe got this information but I'll list it, in case:

From the above link, Annabella i(Annble) is with her siblings in 1841

http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~coigach/genealogy/achil.htm#41-31

In 1851m she is with Hugh (as Ann) in Polglass and is recorded as born Assynt (to the north of Coigach in Sutherland)

Hola Gadget and thanks for your welcome
I do have Annabelle ancestors up to her great grandfather Alexander Fraser/Anna Cameron that were married in Kilmorack church, Sep 8, 1718. Missing in the data I have are: her grand mother and all her mother´s Mackenzie ancestors.
On the Macleod side, I only got to Roderick Macleod b1776 and his wife Margaret Mackenzie b1785
I have no information of their ancestors.
Look forward to your charts.
**Hugh Macleod and Annabella Fraser, had a son Donald, who came to Chile and my wife is one of her descendants here; Donald Macleod is my wife´s greatgrandfather.

Hola  :)

How sure are you that  Alexander Fraser and Anna Cameron who were married in Kilmorack in 1718 are Annabella's ancestors?

The reason I ask is that Kilmorack is over on the east side near Beauly. They could well have moved across to the west coast, given the various movements during the 18th century but we need to be sure it is them.  As far as I can recall, the Achiltibuie Frasers were from Gairloch parish originally.

I'm thinking that the Mackenzies might have been part of the Achnahaird Mackenzies but not totally sure at the moment as the parish registers for Coigach are not available before the 1790s.

Hi,
I got that information from Alasdair Fraser, who is a descendant of Alexander Fraser and Anna Cameron.

Is that old Alasdair who moved back to Australia?  If so, it would be pretty accurate as he did a lot of research in Edinburgh. He gave me quite a few pieces to photocopy but I can't lay my hands on them at the moment.

Have you followed up the Donald Fraser in Craigsiory* (??) who stood for Alexander at the marriage?  He could be father or brother, etc. ?

* Craigscorrie

PS  Leanassie not Leonasie

Hola,
Correct, we are talking about the same Alasdair, who shared with me a lot of information.
In the genealogy tree, he in the same generation as my mother inlaw.

Hola,
Correct, we are talking about the same Alasdair, who shared with me a lot of information.
In the genealogy tree, he in the same generation as my mother in law.

He had more information than me as he'd been investigating for longer and spent a considerable time in Edinburgh searching through records.

Did he mention a Donald Fraser in Craigscorrie, Kilmorack? He was standing surety for Alexander at the marriage.

Also, mentioned in one of the papers, is Willy Muir. His mother was a Fraser. He died in the late 1990s. We spent many an hour at Willy's  :)

He had a brother but not sure if he's still alive so won't mention him. The next generation of  Muirs are still there.

There's an interesting marriage in Kilmorack in 1678 (difficult to read):

June 2 1678
Donald Frayser in the parish of Wardlaw (?will check) and Katharine Frayser daughter of James Frayser in Stonehouse  ? ? ? ?of Kilmorack ..........

Wardlaw was another name for the parish of Kirkhill:
