Title: 4th Dragoon Guards
Post by: kickbuttgirlie on Sunday 28 October 18 21:01 GMT (UK)
This is the details of my 4x great grandmothers marriage in 1824. ** 15 [May], Bartie, William, Shoemaker in Footdee & Jean Thom there, daughter of James, Soldier 4th Reg[iment] Dragoon Guards. C.C. Alex. Moir and H. Leslie.**

Can anyone help point me in any direction where I can find out more about James Thom in the Dragoon Guards please? What uniform he would have worn, where he would have served etc. Thank you .

This guide may help you:

And also the regimental museum: http://www.rdgmuseum.org.uk/ (the regimental history is on special offer at £15 in their shop)
