According to The Times , Friday, Sep 21, 1962, Movements Of Liners, the "Fair Sky" left Suez on the 19th. but there is no report of when it left Southampton.

Hi Girl Guide,
I am the person Madgie was enquiring about the Fairsky for. Thanks for your help but by the time I clicked on your link I was told it had expired. I have tried searching the NAA for our Family Name, the Fairsky, etc but cannot find the info you found. I can find the frisky voyage in March of '62 but the next record is early '63. I searched for a couple of hours but no luck. Could i trouble you to do the search again and either take a screenshot or post what you searched for and which tab. I searched via the Basic search, Advanced search and passenger arrivals tab. I have found our arrival in Melbourne ok but that doesn't give the departure date from Southampton.
Thanks in advance.

Very few individual people have been indexed so far. You need to contact the NAA for a quote to copy individual documents.

Follow the steps below and it should appear for you.
FINDING FAIRSKY
Google National Archives of Australia – when it appears click on Search the Collection.
In the top right corner where it says EXPLORE enter the word Fairsky in the Search the Collection box and press Go.
When that page comes up click on Refine Search – When that appears enter Fairsky in the Keywords box, enter item barcode 1689705. In the date box enter 1962 in both boxes.
Click Search and it will come up, not necessarily instantly but it will appear. You should see what I put in on Reply#9.

But, not wanting to be difficult, how did you come across that barcode? Your search uncovered it i assume.

Hi Debra,
Thanks for the suggestions but I already have the available paperwork from the NAA. Unfortunately the date of departure field has been left blank in the list of passengers by the ships crew. I have however found the date thanks to another help :-).
Thanks again.

Apologies Debra, I wrongly assumed you were referring to the melbourne passenger list. I did find that reference though so thanks :-).
