I'm not sure if this is the correct section or even website to enquire about this as I'm very new to anything regarding adoption.
I've been wondering, if an adopted child was unaware they were adopted, decides to have a look on the FreeBMD website and looked up the name they were given by their adopted parents, would anything pop up?
Thanks :)

Nothing will come up on FreeBMD if the name entered is a new one given at the time of adoption.
But if the person is aware of the name they were registered with at birth, they can look up that birth registration on FreeBMD and order a certificate in the usual way. It will be annotated "adopted" in the right-hand margin, but otherwise will be a normal birth certificate.

Welcome to Rootschat ;D
The GRO publishes an Adopted Childrens index which shows the name after adoption and a reference number so that an adoption certificate can be ordered. It is only available at the 7 sites who host the GRO indexes.
There is no way of linking names in this index with the birth index unless you know both, before and after adoption.
