Title: Imp abreviatio on prison record
Post by: dave the tyke on Thursday 18 October 18 10:48 BST (UK)
Hi,
I've just found a prison record with the abbreviation Imp in the education column - any ideas?
(The recipient was Irish Catholic)
Thanks
Dave

Not sure about that Milliepede, other entries in the column are either Nil or Imp. The column heading is definitely Education. There were no previous convictions.

It stands for Imperfect, or Imperfectly, and refers to the prisoner's ability to read/write.
