I am searching for the marriage of William Collier born 1825 Hull and Ann Wells born 1824 Thorne it would be in the 1840's as I have family born from 1846 in Hook.

HI I HAD A LOOK ON VARIOUS SITES & FOUND NOTHING, ALSO CHECKED MY PARISH RECORDS, THEN I CHECKED ON YORKSHIRE BMD & FOUND A MARRIAGE FOR ANN WELLS TO A WILLIAM COLLIER LEE IN 1846 HULL TRINITY, HULL. REF 22/334 FOR GRO, FOR HULL REGISTERS HD/8/389
ANN WAS CH 26 OCT 1823 IN THORNE
FATHER RICHARD WELLS
MOTHER MARY
CANNOT FIND ANYMORE ON WILLIAM. COULD IT BE POSSIBLE HIS MOTHER REMARRIED & HE TOOK THE NAME OF LEE, I HAD ONE LIKE THAT & IT TOOK ME 5YRS TO SOLVE IT.

Hi Moira Thanks for that I did have those details but it is great to know your folks were from Thorne. I have found a record of birth for a William Collier Lee in 1837 Hull Trinity Church that seems much too young to be our William (it is an unusual name though and he may have been baptised as an older child as the birth would appear to be out of wedlock)but he and Ann must have married around 1846 as they have family from then on

hi pam, if i was you i would write to hull register office & ask if anns parents are richard & mary on the cert, the 1846 one, do you know williams parents names. They are not too bad at some offices, you have to enclose the fee of £7, but if it is not right they will refund it all back.
