Title: Barlow 1851 census
Post by: genieology on Thursday 11 August 05 10:24 BST (UK)
I am looking for Joseph Barlow born Bowden 1828, next seen on his marriage 1854 Farnworth Nr Widnes, living Sankey, then 1861 Pall Mall, Nantwich. If anyone could find him on the 1851 census in any of these areas I would love you forever!
Thanks.

Hi

     Welcome to rootschat  :)

Do you happen to have his fathers name at all, maybe from the marriage certificate ?

Hi
Sorry no sign of him, I have searched the 1851 for Warrington/Sankey, Nantwich and surrounding areas also the 1841/1851 for all the townships within the Bowden Parish.

It could be that the family left Cheshire quite early, it may be worth your while searching for the death of Job and then searching there.

There are a few odd coincidences with my Barlows.
Could they be related? Would the same occupations lead to introductions and marriages within the trade?!!!
My gggfather was a Job Garner, market gardener of Sale, Cheshire b 1821>
married in 1841 to Ellen BARLOW b 1822> Sale.
They had 4 sons — one of whom was a Joseph b 1851> in Northenden.
Could your Joseph be my Ellen's brother? If you find him, do let me know as I have got no further info on her than this.
Cheers, Rian.

As I can't find Joseph's birth, I'm at a bit of a loss where to go next. There are a couple of possibilities that look interesting, but I havn't had time ti get to Chester RO to check them out. One lead I found was a link with Lower Peover.
Take a look at my website http://davgw.net/members/jill/ to see if it helps.

I can't see a connection; I think it's just an odd coincidence. Thanks anyway.
I like your website— well organised and nice pics.
Cheers, Rian.

Thanks for your help, that looks like a possible clue. Sorry it's been a while, changed jobs, not had much time lately
