Hi All
In 1911 we have found my husband GGrandparents living in 1 Joel Place, Chadderton (Busk), Oldham. Now I've tried looking on old maps and just generally googling it but as of yet we cannot locate where Joel Place is.
Can anyone point me in the direction ?
Thanks in advance :) :)

If you page back on the census to the previous street maybe that can be found to help locate the one you want :)

Good idea, thank you I never thought of that

You can see Joel Place on this map https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/391222/405516/13/100678
Change the zoom with the - + in the top left corner.

Joel place was just under the arrow , running horizontal in the picture . It was still standing in 1968 as I had a distant relative who lived at No4 . Joel Place would be just at the side of the long boarded up pub that can be seen on Google street view . Use the street names to reference where it would have been in relation to present day

This is very interesting for me as I had ancestors living on Joel Place, so it's great to see it.
I also had family living in nearby Charles Street and Radclyffe Street which can be partially seen in the main picture posted here.
My grandad was involved with Chadderton Band Club which I think was on the junction of Radclyffe Street and Prospect Road so it could be on this picture but I'm not sure which building it might be. Would any of you know how I can pinpoint it?
The Britannia Inn is very close by and is still there, even if boarded up!
