Hi Phil,

Do you have Frederick's marriage cert giving his father's name and occupation?

On the 1911 is Catherine married or a widow?

Hi Phil

Looks like Frederick George may have still been around for part of 1913/1914...

From National School Admission Registers & Log-Books 1870-1914, All Saints Infant School, Hereford

Daisy Tyler. Birthdate 05/03/1908 Admission date 31/03/1913

Address, 4, Hopbine Place.

Name of Parent/Guardian - George

Withdrawal Date - 20/02/1914. Reason - Left the district

Maybe a death/burial/marriage may be registered under George Tyler / George Frederick Tyler??

Sarah :)

I see there is a Frederick George Tyler marriage in Stroud in 1905 so he may not be the Hereford one

An ancestry tree has Frederick George Tyler's father as Edwin , presumably from the marriage certificate. This 1901 census might fit :

Edwin Tyler 58
Maria Caroline Tyler 50
Edward Ernest Tyler 30
Frederick George Tyler 25 Stableman/Groom
Arthur Edwin Tyler 22
living in Brentford , Middx

In 1881 shown as stokes

As grandson to

Edward Tyler and Jane Tyler

Living in all saints Hereford

Now Edward is shown as Edwin on Frederick's marriage cert

As deceased  an engine driver

Edward b 1824 is shown as a stoker on a good train in 1862 ???

Yes it's strange

But all the way to his marriage

He has the same initials

Do you think it's him possibly

And that he was adopted and changed his name to Tyler

Frederick Edward George Owen Stokes had mother's maiden name Tyler, so think it's probably more a case of adopting his mother's family surname as he was raised by his grandparents rater than any form of adoption (not a formal legal process in those days)

Not that I've found a Stokes-Tyler marriage yet
