Title: How to Clean up old photos
Post by: whitej on Sunday 30 September 18 10:10 BST (UK)
I have a few Victorian photographs from 1870-1900 based on people in them.

I would like to clean then myself but not sure what to use? One of them is a "metal" photograph.

thanks.

If you mean clean them digitally, I use Gimp which is free and open source software, you can download direct from their site at www.gimp.org

There are various other software progs, as others on here will testify.
Whichever you choose, there are many tutorials online.

If you mean physically cleaning them...... not for the feint hearted....

" Thank you. I did mean physically."

DONT!!!   Make sure you have scanned them and stored them digitally

and do what HandyPandy says.  If you still want to clean them, seek professional help.

                   Have a nice day ;D ;D ;D ;D
