Looking for their marriage, births, family, parents. Any thing will help!
Thanks Branchingout

Alfred Charles Ladell is in Canada by the 1851 census Ontario (Pickering)
he is living with the Swallow family no doubt his mothers relations.
Matthew Swallow farmer next birthday 45 born England
Matthew 20 carpenter and Joiner England
Charles 16 Labourer born Scarboro
John 12 Pickering
George 6 Pickering
Ann 40 England
Martha 17 Scarboro
Sarah 14 Scarboro
Lydia 4 Pickering
Alfred C Ladell, labourer born England next birthday 23.
They are Wesleyan Methodists
So Alfred Charles Ladell goes to Canada between the dates of the English census of 1851 and the Canadian Census of 1851.
He travels back to England ?? and on May 19 1855 he arrives in New York destination Canada, they left from Liverpool, with his mother Martha Ladell age 47. Matthew Swallow 47 (probably her brother) Alfred Charles Ladell 26 and Walter Edward Ladell age 19. Ship called The Baltic.
In 1861 he is still single, living in Carradoc Ontario, living one family away from George H Ladell age 37 and his wife Mary Ann and their 6 children only the youngest Alice age 2 was born in Canada. So they arrived about 1858.
1871 Biddulph Ontario he is married to Naomi Lambert, listed as Charles Alfred Ladell age 41, his mother Martha is living with them age 72, Their eldest child is 5 so he married circa 1863/1864.
There is a Martha Ann Ladell age 11 also living with them but she is listed after his mother and not with the other children. Oddly he states all born England unless he misunderstood the census takers question.
He is now a regular baptist.

1881 census Lambton Ontario as Alfred Charles Ladell age 57, Naomi states born Ontario.
1891 census Lampton East, Ontario Alfred is 61 and Naomi 54 who again says born Ontario.
-
Guestwick Norfolk Church Baptism Bishops Transcripts.
13 September 1829 Alfred Charles Ladell, parents William Ladell and Martha. Father - Farmer.
-
There is a tree on ancestry that states Alfred and Naomi married 2 November 1862 by Rev. Jones Methodist minister.
Suggest you get in touch with them and find out where they got the information.
ADDED the 1851 census of England was 30 March 1851, however Canada West (Ontario)and East (Quebec) information was not gathered until 12 January 1852. Nova Scotia and New Brunswick were completed in 1851. Lot of miles to cover.

well done amondg, good research. :)
Some more newspaper notices:
"DIED ...
On Wednesday last ... same day, in her 8th year, Emily Jane, the youngest daughter of Mr W. Ladell, of Stody Hall."
Bury and Norwich Post, Wednesday, August 25, 1841
"DIED ...
On the 7th inst., after four days sickness, in her 19th year, Margaret Maria, second daughter of Mr William Ladell, of Stody-hall, in this county."
Bury and Norwich Post, Wednesday, September 20, 1843
-
"MARRIED ...
Lately, Mr Ladle [sic], farmer, of Guestwick, to Miss Martha Swallow, eldest daughter of Mr John Swallow, farmer, of Hunworth"
Norfolk Chronicle, Saturday, December 12, 1818

Probable baptism for Martha:
27 Dec 1798 at All Saints, Weybourne, parents John SWALLOW and Martha (nee HALL)
(from FreeReg)
Modified to add:
John SWALLOW (widower) married Martha HALL (widow) at All Saints Weybourne 3 October 1797, both of Weybourne. Witnesses: Henry SANDFORD and Ann CRANEFIELD.
Rose SWALLOW buried at All Saints Weybourne 13 March 1793, wife of John SWALLOW, age 25. Late Rose NURSE.
Lots more records to see for this family, as Philip noted, on FreeReg :)

Wow!
maddys52 and amondg are hammering this search with great detail.
There's enough good information now for Branching out to have a really good chance of getting at least one line back to the 1600s.
Norfolk is one of my favourite counties to track ancestors in - there are lots of online records and register images - and Rootschatters to help as needed. :)

I'm wary of thinking Martha HALL (widow) was nee HALL. This could be her husband's surname. I'll see if I can identify a marriage for Martha to a Mr Hall and a death for Mr Hall prior to 1797 - just in case!
Philip
ADDED - there is a possible:
Weybourne All Saints marriage 2 April 1783 Edward HALL (widower) to Martha HARDY (spinster). Witnesses John Swallow and Mary Stimson.
Weybourne All Saints burial 25 January 1797 Edward HALL.
I can't guarantee it's the same Edward, but I couldn't see a burial for Martha Hall in or near Weybourne, so it's a possibility - especially with the name John Swallow as marriage witness.

Afternoon All!

Hi. According to information given 20 years ago by one of the Canadian Ladell family, Naomi LAMBERT was born 18 November 1836 in Lobo, Ontario. She married Alfred Charles LADELL in 1862 at Middlesex Co. Ontario. She died 31 January 1928 in Forest, Ontario. I have 7 recorded children for this couple including a pair of twins that died soon after birth.
I have Norfolk LADELL family back to early 1700's. Regards

Thank you for the info.
