Title: Further Info/Advice Request. William Hill & Sarah of Wootton abt 1785
Post by: jenner68 on Friday 31 August 18 14:34 BST (UK)
Hi, I have been at a brickwall on my Hill/Hills side of my family tree for some time now. I noticed from the Wootton burials that William Hills was born in approx 1759 and died in 1814 but I have not been able to find a birth of a William Hill/Hills in 1759 in Wootton. This could mean I need to try looking somewhere else. I have been looking through Northamptonshire indexes and I am beginning to think that he may have been born in Boughton in 1759 as there is a birth for a William Hill to a John Hill & Clary Sutton. Then there is a marriage of a William Hill to a Sarah Gibson in Boughton in 1783 and the first birth in Wootton in 1785. How can I prove this and what other resources could I try looking at?. I greatly appreciate any advice you may be be able to give.

How did you get to this William Hill? Do you know who his children and wife were?
regards.

Hi Paco, William & Sarah had 7 children baptised in Wootton first being in 1785 but I have been unable to find a marriage in Wootton around this time so I started looking further afield. I also not found any Hill/Hills born in Wootton before this time either. I started looking at William's Birth of about 1759 from the burial record. Then there is the William Hill married to Sarah Gibson in 1783 in Boughton and this is where I am at the moment.  Thanks
