Hello,
Can anyone please help to confirm the date John BUSHBY (1804-1838) married his wife Elizabeth (1808-1831). Her maiden name unknown. I have researched most of the likely Indexes but no luck, sadly.
I would be grateful. Thank you.

Where were they buried? Have you looked at Campton parish register, either for the marriage or for banns which would show Elizabeth's maiden name and parish of residence?

Thank you for replying.
According to the National Burial Index for England & Wales they were both buried at the Anglican All Saints Church in Campton. However, I'm unsure how you access successfully the Campton Parish Register for marriages, as on each occasion I search the appropriate period it takes me to FindMyPast which does not have the answer. The joys of genealogy ???

John Bushby was of Clifton when he was buried at Campton on 19 Apr 1838, aged 34
Elizabeth Bushby was of Shefford when she was buried at Campton on 17 Nov 1831, aged 23
Did John Bushby as widower, of Shefford remarry at Campton in 1831

I have no idea if John BUSHBY re-married after the death of his wife, Elizabeth. There might be a possibility of course.
My interest lies with Elizabeth BUSHBY (maiden name unknown) who mothered three children, Joel (1828), George (1829) and Emma (1831). The thought is that Elizabeth could have died in 1831 as a result of Emma's birth?? It is the date of her marriage and maiden name I am trying to establish for a descendant in Australia of the eldest son, who was transported.

I don't think that Campton marriages post 1812 are available online. Beds FHS have a CDrom which has transcriptions pre 1813 with an index for marriages 1813-51

Thank you for the tip about the Beds FHS.
I had noticed via your earlier remark about the Parish Registers that possibly on-line details were unavailable

Good Morning Bunnygirl,
Wonderful information.......what can I say, except, Thank You.
Aside from the fact that Joel BUSHBY, the eldest child was transported to Australia, the BUSHBY family story was one of tragedy, premature deaths of children and, indeed, parents. I notice that you have named John BUSHBY's first daughter in 1831 as "Emily", whereas the information I have been given is "Emma". Possibly a transcription error? Sadly, of course, no confirmation of John and Elizabeth's marriage and no indication of her maiden name.
However, you have certainly provided previously unknown information and I am sure my correspondent in Australia will be delighted.
Thank you once again,
BAC3
