Tony Matijasevic (Matijasevich) born 03 May 1922 (not 100% certain) in Korcula - Croatia (known as Dalmatian Yugoslavia at the time).
Mother- Anna Rudolph; Father - Rudi Matijasevic
Family arrived in NZ around 1923-28 (when Tony was about 6 years), including brothers George, Max & Jimmy.
Settled in Northland. For some reason, Tony was raised by the Mathias family, George went to the Yuri family and no idea where Max and Jimmy went.
Tony died in Rotorua, New Zealand 14 Feb 2005.
Daughter has been to Croatia twice. Set to go again in 3months. Wanting to connect with heritage more fully while there.
ALSO want to connect with Tony's brother's families (New Zealand)
All contributions greatly appreciated

Korčula is an island, and a town by the same name on that island. Not anywhere near Majske Poljane. Just because a person with the same name is in Australia doesn't mean they're related.
It is important to first determine exactly what happened to Tony's family and who came to (and stayed) in NZ. I can see a number of people with this surname in NZ but finding it hard to find any record of Rudi and Anna, or their children, specifically, or link them to others by this surname in NZ.
Who was the "Mathias" family Tony was raised by? Did he take this name? Is it not just an Anglicization of "Matijasevic"?
Under what name was Tony's death registered?
Do you know any more about George who was taken in by the Yuri family? Where does this info come from?
