This is my first posting on this site.
Is anyone else researching the above ?
My line is back to Nathanial Unwin born c1781, through Timothy Unwin christened 1818 and my great grand mother Martha Unwin christened 1842. Does anyone know anything about their siblings ?
Looking forward to making some contacts through this site, I have been very lucky in the past !

Hi Gilld,
Have you tried this site It has searchable databases so may provide some clues. Martha is listed on the 1851 census index and the film number is given so you could identify her siblings...or you could ask for a look-up!

Thanks Frances, I have found that my searches in 'Cambs' have been very rewarding, lots of free info, unlike some counties !!!!
I have already found two of my grand mother's brothers relation, just hoping to find some more so that we can work together.

Are you still looking?
I live in Impington - the Unwins Seed nursery is still in the village (though there have been threats to close it this year), and there are still Unwin family members around, if you are connected to them? If you want, I could try to find a phone number or address for the village history society, who would probably have more concrete details of the family.

Thank you Liz
I don't think my immediate family are linked to the Unwins Seeds although there will be a contact somewhere.
My Great grand mother was Martha Unwin b 1842
Her father was Timothy Unwin b1818 he married Sarah Ann Miller from Histon
Timothy's father was Nathanial Unwin b1781 Impington
I have tracked through many of the brothers and sisters, but have not made contact with any of their descendants as yet

Just done a quick check and happened to come across a message on another genealogy forum from one of the Unwins in the village (I don't know him personally, but our children are in the same class at the village school!).

I don't know whether this leaflet might help? or if he knows anything else about his earlier family?
Of course you may already know about this.

I have an Harriet Cooper born 1816 m. 1837 Thomas UNWIN.
they lived in Landbeach and then on to bigger towns. They had children: Henry, Hannah, Frederick and Mary
-
I have had a quick look and can't find a Thomas in my direct line and their families.
Where did he come from?
What did he do?
There were lots of Unwins in that part of Cambs.
My direct line is through Timothy Unwin b1818 and his father Nathanial born c 1781, both from Impington.

Hi Gilld
I only found this site today, my husband is also descended from Timothy Unwin and Sarah Ann Miller. His ancestor was their son William Ken Unwin who married Sarah Ann Vincent.
Their children were

Sarah Ann 1867
Jane 1869
Charles Timothy 1871
George 1873
Eleanor 1880
William 1886
I have more info if needed

Hi Dave....
No bother ...wish that I could help but my 'Malpass' family were from Cheshire and moved to Burslem......I have not done any more research on the family from when one of the girls married into our family in 1871, so do not know what happened to the rest of the family. If you find a link back to Burslem and the Malpass family please contact me again.
Good hunting
Gilld
