Title: WARD Bridget and Elizabeth
Post by: wentworth13 on Friday 08 June 18 08:53 BST (UK)
Trying to find info about the above. I believe they may have come from the Shirley estate but later in 1866. From what I know there was a Brother Hugh ( and a death notice in the paper said he died 24/1/1902.No idea where. They also had a sister Rose. Bridget and Elizabeth were born around 1847-49.
There was a Hugh Ward who came out in 1849 from the Shirley estate. I am thinking that this may have been an uncle to them. Perhaps their father's brother
Bridget married James Burden but on the marriage cert did not state father's name.
Any help will be appreciated.

I have read that. Hugh who came out int 1849 is on the ship Constance. If I understand it correctly gave up his acre for him and his family to emigrate.
Also noticed that a Hugh Ward was destitute in Jan 44. Perhaps he is the girls grandfather
