Hi,
I'm currently seeking any information on the Baker Family, Around 1918.
27 Wilson St, Stoke On Trent.
(Head) Edwin Francis Baker, Farm Bailiff, Birth Unknown.
(Wife) Martha Baker, Birth Unkown.
(daut) Francis Baker, Birth 12 Jan 1918.
Any info would be great, many thanks.

BUMP
Just thought I would bump this post, it's been over a year....

Do you have Francis's birth cert from 1918? a maiden name would be handy to trace mum pre marriage, having a look for the father but no luck so far.....
Regards
Catherine :)

Hi catone
Martha's maiden name is Baker on the certificate, I think they maybe cousins.
Francis my gran was sent away when she was a baby to Lancaster probably an orphanage, thats all I know. Francis died four years ago and she told the family nothing about her childhood.
She never even told me who my grandfather was..
Thanks for the help...

I think the first thing to do is find their marriage, then we have their fathers name to narrow down the search. (1837online.com for complete records)
Found an Edwin Baker on 1901 census, aged 7, in Stoke on Trent, father Joseph, mother Emily + lots of siblings but cant be sure if this is right one until we have fathers name.... :-\
Regards
Catherine :)

The 1901 census sounds very interesting, but like you said I need to find Edwin and Martha's marriage cert and I have this feeling they never married!

Oh dear, not sure how to confirm the parents then :-\ Edwin and Martha's Death certs should give age, from there you can get a year of birth (actual date of birth should be on later death certificates I think, not sure on that one) From there you maybe able to find a corresponding birth??......
Let me know if you want full 1901 details of the Stoke on Trent family I found though.
Regards,
Catherine :)

I will try and find their death certs and work back as you suggested.
The 1901 census details would be great for future reference if its not too much trouble, because you never know.
And many thanks for your help... :)
