Hi all,
Trying to figure out the date of this CDV, not so much to identify the person but rather the flourish as I'm currently researching the photographer and trying to figure out when this flourish was used on the back of his CDVs.
Photographer operated in Western Australia from around 1865-1890, but from 1868-69 he was in a partnership known as Manning & Knight.
I don't think this photo was taken any later than the end of the 1870's, but I'd love to be able to figure out if it's before or after he entered the business partnership.
Many thanks!

1860's. You don't see the full size pose, the posing stand or centre logo as the norm in the 1870's.

Thanks Jim, I think Perth must've been a bit backwards back then, as I have some definite 1870's photos from a number of Perth photographers all full length, with posing stands and centred logos.
Maybe someone will be able to date the wide lapels and wide tie knot.

There's nothing in the 2nd. photo to indicate it's 1870's unless you have something specific about it or the photographer.

The photographer in the 2nd photo received his photographic equipment in 1871 and set up a studio shortly after. Prior to this, he had been a convict.
Photo would have been taken between 1871-1873 or 1875-1880, from 1874-75 he worked in a photographic partnership with another photographer. By 1880 he had become bankrupt and when he started business again he used a studio name.
