The list of residents includes a Jannet Robertson, 20, with the letters F.S. in the next column. What might F.S. stand for

I think you have posted in the wrong section. However, FS in the census records usually means female servant.

Click on the Forum tab across the top. Then scroll down until you find the section you want. A lot of boards have sub boards. In this case, you would have posted this in the general Scotland section.
It's never really a problem, as our friendly mods will move a post to it's right area.
