Hi,
I'm trying to find out what happened to my Grandfather's (Clifford Gordon Patrick O'Neal b. 1886, Poona, India) young sister - Esther Mary O'Neal. She was born 14 Oct 1905 in Poona and baptised 19 Oct 1905.
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FGCS-FXP - Esther Mary O'Neal, "India, Births and Baptisms, 1786-1947"
Her parents were John William O'Neal (aka - William John O'Neal , William Patrick O'Neal, Patrick O'Neal, Willie - these names are mentioned in various documents and family letters) and his second wife Helena Rebecca Sanger (aka - Lena O'Neal).
Esther's mother Lena died 15 Oct 1905 , the day after Esther was born.
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FGKS-65S - Patrick O'Neal in entry for Lena O'Neal, "India Deaths and Burials, 1719-1948"
I would love to find out what happened to Esther as I have no more information on her. Did she survive, who bought her up, did she stay in India, marry, have children, etc? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Sandi

gortonboy - Thanks so much for the information you have posted. I think you are spot on and have solved a family mystery.
Just a query about her death info -
Death date 22 Aug 1906 but Burial date 11 Aug 1906. Should these be the other way around, but then it would also leave a big gap in days between death and burial?
With the comment "Died of Debility" - would this mean she was born or suffered from some sort of birth defect?
-
In the olden days ..Debility - State or quality of being weak; weakness; feebleness; languor.
-
Image states born and died on the 11th August.

Thank you very much.
